Hawzah News Agency - According to the Communication and Media Affairs Centre of al-Nujaba in Iran, the Saudi-owned “al-Arabiya” free-to-air television news channel published a report which examined the reasons for the boycott and blocking of the websites of the Iraqi Islamic Resistance groups by the government of the United States.
The report cites several reasons for Washington’s sensitivity, the most important of which is the close relationship between the Iraqi Islamic Resistance groups and their media networks to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Saudi media organization then referred to the blocking of websites belonging to the Iraqi al-Nujaba movement by the order of the government of the United States and added, “This pro-Iranian group produces interesting films that present a narrative in line with Tehran’s anti-American policies.”
al-Arabiya, citing a report from the American Institute for Strategic Studies, describes one of the al-Nujaba video productions as follows: “After the attack on the Iranian consulate and the headquarters of Popular Mobilization Forces in Basrah in September 2018 they explained the story in a video as if a way that seems that the United States’ consulate was the instigator of these attacks.”
The report concludes with a statement from Phillip Smyth, an analyst at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, who said, “Although physical confrontation with Iraqi resistance groups such as the al-Nujaba movement is necessary, it is also important to also confront the anti-American narratives they publish in their online media, especially from the perspective that the United States is called the founder, ally and supporter of Daesh.”
It is worth mentioning that so far, the three main websites of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance group have been blocked and confiscated by the direct order of the government of the United States. Dozens of main or affiliated accounts of the movement on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. have also been taken down following Washington’s sanctions directives.
